Georgia-Pacific’s Palatka Mill Employees Donate Hundreds of Gifts to Local Angel Tree Program
Employees of Georgia-Pacific LLC ’s Palatka, Fla. mill joined together this holiday season to put new clothes, shoes and toys under the tree for children in need across Putnam County.
The collection was part of the Putnam County School District ’s annual Angel Tree program. The program helps fulfill wishes for children who would not otherwise receive anything on Christmas.
GP employees purchased, wrapped and delivered more than 400 gifts for students at Browning Pearce Elementary, James A. Long Elementary, Kelley Smith Elementary, Melrose Elementary, Middleton-Burney Elementary, William D. Moseley Elementary, Ochwilla Elementary, Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. Elementary, Children’s Reading Center Charter School, and Mellon Learning Center.
“Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning,” said Chris Gent, the mill’s head of communications and public affairs. “We are honored to once again partner with the school district to help lift the financial burden of the holidays for local families in need.”
Merry Christmas, everyone!
