George Cronin, Administrative Secretary of the Governor's Council passed away last week. Online obituary posting here https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/bostonglobe/obituary.aspx?n=george-f-cronin&pid=193442723&fhid=15211
Going on 6 years I had gotten to know George when attending the Governor's COuncil hearings and assembly. We had complementary hobbies, history buff meets print collector. Having a Bachelor of Science in Printing from R.I.T., there is very little about printing I do not know, especially all the old printing methods that are of most interest to a print collector. History. which could be described as choreographing the closet skeletons to dance in step to the music of the spheres, is a matter of what happened (usually public) with why it happened (usually not public) and George was a great source of why. So we had much to talk about.
In the many youtube videos I have put up of the Governor's Council hearings and assemblies one will always see George. He was always there, taking notes for the minutes, supplying the papers (warrants) to be signed and calling the roll call votes. Very little will you hear of George talking outside of that as usually his talks with me were prefaced by "is that camera recording" followed by hitting the pause button.
