Types of geomembrane repair:
Spot welding repair: For holes smaller than 5mm in the material, the membrane surface must first be cleaned, then smoothed with a grinder, and then spot welded with an extrusion welding machine;
Patch repair: Large holes and severely damaged areas on the membrane surface can be repaired by adding patches. First, clean the surface of the membrane, then smooth it with a grinder, use a hot air welding gun to hot-melt weld the patch to the repaired area, then use a sanding machine to smooth the surrounding areas of the patch, and use an extrusion welding gun for extrusion welding.
Patch size: According to the size of the hole, the patch margin should be no less than 8cm from the defect;
Geomembrane repair methods:
Geomembrane tapes are divided into two types: fire heating and electric heating.
Geomembrane tape is divided into two types: one side with glue and both sides with glue.

In order to carry out the geomembrane welding perfectly and reduce the repair of the geomembrane,
一. Preliminary welding work:
1. According to the actual site survey, the base should first be solid and flat, without tree roots, rubble, stones, concrete particles, steel bars, glass chips and other debris that may damage the waterproof board. Ground protrusions larger than 12mm must also be leveled or compacted.
2. In order to facilitate construction and ensure splicing quality, geomembrane splicing in the field should be as wide as possible to reduce the amount of on-site splicing. Before construction, it should be cut at the construction site according to the width and on-site length of the geomembrane, and Spliced into units that meet the required dimensions.
二. Judgment of vulnerability situation:
1. When the geomembrane is punctured by sharp objects such as gravel, or scratched by some tools, causing tears during the construction process, the membrane needs to be repaired and sutured. The materials chosen should be as consistent as possible with those previously used.
2. If the geomembrane is improperly protected during storage or movement, resulting in long cracks, and the length of the crack exceeds more than 10% of the entire roll of material, then there is no need to repair the cracks. Simply cut off the damaged area and re-glue the remaining parts.
3. All patches should have the same thickness as the original anti-seepage membrane, and non-destructive testing should be performed on each repair location and records should be kept.
