Geography Education Resource Worth Noting

Have you ever confused Dominica with Dominican Republic? Did you know that one uses Creole and English and the other – Spanish? Are you able to tell the difference between Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania? Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina? Or find Belarus on the map? Or know where you end up landing when booking those Seychelles vacation?

This is a great resource to look at - just in 15 to 30 min - at the speed of the gun machine spitting information, you learn about the country, its neighbors, the people, and even a bit of the history. This is perfect for someone who does not have a clue but is not inclined to drown immediately in the text-heavy Wikipedia.

The project seems still a work in progress.?Not all countries are covered just yet. For example, I was unable to locate Switzerland or Ukraine. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of it all, but the ones I am intimately familiar with – e.g. Poland and Czech Republic – I was amazed by how much of valuable information was squeezed in. Considering the very limited time. And they managed even to lighten it a bit with a joke or two on this potential political-correctness minefield.

The result is to be admired and recognized. ?Who knows – maybe your high school teenager will even enjoy learning geography now? It also seems like a perfect first step into the unknown culture.?Or before you book that trip.
