The Gentry Class Attacks Washington County Prosperity, Buys A Pulitzer?

The fractivist screed “Amity and Prosperity,” an attack on Washington County prosperity by the gentry class just won a Pulitzer Prize from … her husband?

The gentry class has nothing but contempt for the middle class for whom it speaks. It uses the latter merely as a leverage to advance its own special interest agenda. That agenda is elitist to the core and shared among those whom are members of the club; the condescending sons and daughters of wealth and prestige who suppose it’s their obligation to look out for the rest us and, of course, keep us in our place.

That’s what drives so much of the trust-funder opposition to fracking, which has brought prosperity to forgotten parts of America, parts the gentry class would just as soon become wilderness. A book by Eliza Griswold released last year demonstrates, as she goes after the oil and gas industry and Washington County prosperity.

Griswold’s book is titled “Amity and Prosperity: One Family and the Fracturing of America” and the scene is Washington County, Pennsylvania. A New York Times review sings its praises, as only one member of the gentry class can when speaking of another.
