A gentle nudge to check-in with YOU

A gentle nudge to check-in with YOU

The last few months have certainly been tough and challenging to many aspects of our lives. For those of us who are leaders, coaches, trainers or people of influence serving our clients, community and circle of influence, it has been a time when those people looking to us, need us at our best.

It has been a time for stepping up, reaching out, connecting, engaging and supporting all those we can through what has been a very overwhelming and difficult time of adapting, pivoting and finding new solutions. What we mustn't forget though, if we are to keep ourselves at our best and fulfilling this role, which we are all so passionate about, is to take time to check in on ourselves.

It can be easy to stop doing the little things for ourselves when our focus, energy and attention is on how we can serve others and support them during this time. So I'm here to give you a little reminder to stop and give yourself permission to turn your attention inwards, to make sure you are listening, noticing and feeling what's going on for you, within your body and in your life. To acknowledge and work through your feelings and take some time for self-care, to fill your own cup and give back to yourself. Step back and take a little of the advice that I'm sure you are giving our to others, in order to help them through this time and thrive moving forward.

Make sure you are dedicating that regular time where you make yourself a priority because it really does make a big difference in how you can sustain the energy and commitment for turning up and giving to others. Remember this is not a short situation, the ramifications of the last few months are still going to be felt for many months in the future. So we need to be preparing ourselves for the long haul, which means we need to make sure what we are doing is sustainable, so that we can keep turning up, serving and supporting our clients and people in our lives ongoing right through this.

So what do YOU NEED right now?

To keep you mentally, emotionally and physically at your best. How often are you taking time to listen, connect and tap into these areas and assessing your own needs? What regular action or time do you need nourishing and honoring these aspects with your healthy lifestyle habits?

Remember to keep helping others we must also dedicate time to supporting ourselves in being at our best.

Thank you so much for this reminder. I could relate so much to it that we often ignore our wellbeing and keep ourself so involved in the work we do that often we go in that burnout mode. So, I fully agree that taking time out and checking in with ourself is really important and helpful.
