Genius Within Newsletter August 2023

Genius Within Newsletter August 2023

And so the countdown begins...

Though August hasn't been as sunny as we would have liked it to be, it hasn't dampened spirits at Genius Within at all!?

The anticipation grows as we countdown to the Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards. With just a few weeks left until the event on September 28th, excitement builds for a celebration that embraces and honours the diverse strengths within our community.

The main focus of our August newsletter will, of course, be the Awards themselves. We cannot wait for you all to see what the GW team have been working so hard on for the past few months!?

Thanks to Paul Stevenson, our Genius Within Ambassador, for our July photo of choice!?

"As the school holidays draw to a close, I find myself reminiscing about the incredible experiences shared with my family. Our latest adventure led us to the captivating Buachaille Etive Mòr in the heart of Glencoe, nestled within the majestic Scottish Highlands. The landscape's ethereal beauty seemed to transport us to another world, where towering mountains and serene valleys embraced us in their grandeur. Each step we took was a reminder of the awe-inspiring power of nature and the precious moments spent together. Grateful for the memories made and the bonds strengthened against this stunning backdrop."

Employee Spotlight

Our success would not be possible without the passion and dedication of our exceptional team. Their hard work and enthusiasm continue to drive us forward, and we are incredibly grateful for their unwavering commitment.?We hope to shine a spotlight on the outstanding contributions of our employees by featuring a different member of the Genius Within team in each edition, asking them a couple of simple questions so you can get to know the faces behind the brand a little better!

What is your role at Genius Within?

Marketing Assistant?

What is your favourite?thing about working for Genius Within?

Every day in marketing at GW brings new and exciting things. One day I could be working on promotional content for our CND Awards, the next I could be making an eLearning video. The company also puts staff wellbeing first which has benefited me more than once!

What motivates you at work?

For me, seeing the final product of the work I have put in is always a good feeling. Also, being able to collaborate with my colleagues creatively is a lovely motivator for me on a daily basis.?

What is your favourite way to unwind after a day of work?

Going to yoga or jiujitsu class, and then cooking and eating something nice with my housemates whilst watching a film or playing Xbox.

Check out this new segment in our newsletter each month. Next month will feature Alex, our IT Manager.

Lights... Camera... Action...

The GW marketing team has been busy working behind the scenes this month!?This has been on our to-do list for a few years, but the pandemic got in our way.

We organised a work photoshoot to breathe fresh life into our website's visual narrative. Gone are the days of generic stock images, as the team artfully curated a collection of authentic moments that captured the essence of our company culture!

The Birmingham office buzzed with creativity and camaraderie as employees from across different departments participated, showcasing their dedication and passion in each shot.

The photo shoot will not only transform our website's aesthetics but also redefine our brand's identity, inviting visitors to connect on a deeper level with the vibrant spirit that propels GW forward.?

A huge thank you to Paul and Harvey for being our cameramen for the day- smashing it as always.

Paul commented, "What I most enjoyed about the photo shoot was being around all my work colleagues and enjoying their company. ".

And, thank you to Steph, Gabby and Helen for helping to organise and execute the day.

A final shout-out to our models- Kate, Manuela, Aisha, Mo, Drew, Marc, Harveen and Tony!

Coming to our website soon, photos of what we ACTUALLY look like!

Associate of the month, Caroline Cooper, thank you for your hard work! With image of Caroline Cooper on a purple background. Text reads: “For me, being a coach is a privilege, and doing it within the context of the supportive environment created by Genius Within has helped my coaching practice evolve. My hope is that I create a safe and empathetic coaching relationship, helping clients explore their ways of being in the world and seeing themselves with greater clarity and compassion. It is from this new vantage point that change is possible.”

Associate of the Month?

It goes without saying that we love all of our coaches and very much appreciate the work they do. Coaching is an opportunity to support someone in overcoming obstacles and learning how to maximise their strengths. It can be the difference between just getting through the day and absolutely loving your job. What a brilliant way to make real change in people’s lives! Using the feedback data we collect from our coaching clients we like to select a coach to celebrate.

A space to thrive...?

At the Good Ship Genius, we love to help people tap into their strengths! A question that we like to ask is for?people to describe what they are like when they are working at their best. Because all brains are different some people will answer with a very straightforward list while others may tap into a metaphor to describe their state. Having so many creative and visual thinkers on our team we decided recently to collate these and turn them into a social media campaign where we chose videos that matched the descriptions. Here is one of our favourites.

Why not think about what your answer would be? To see the full collection take a look at our Instagram page.?

Check out our new Instagram reel.

Image of a a sunny field of sunflowers at sunset, with a cloudy but bright sky. Text with yellow background reading "When I am working at my best, I am like a sunflower blooming on a sunny day".

Do not forget to keep an eye on our social media channels for more?up-to-date information. Don't forget,?if you want to talk to us more about what we do, you are always welcome to get in touch.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Gabby and the Marketing Team
