Genius Within colleagues celebrated?the companies receipt of King's Award and success of far this year on Wednesday 28th June?at GW HQ- Plumpton Racecourse.?

Thanks to Paul Stevenson, our Genius Within Ambassador, for our June photo of choice!?
Nesting season on the Farne islands is well underway puffin breeding season is around May and June I was lucky enough to be an official photographer for the National Trust and spent many a day on the islands without tourists being around, sadly visitors won't be able to land on the Farne Islands, off the coast of Northumberland, at the start of the 2023 season due to fears that Avian Influenza (bird flu) will rip through the seabird colonies once more. But the good news is it gives the bird colonies a chance to recover and come back stronger.

Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards 2023
Nominations are now closed for the 2023 Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards.?
Shortlists will be announced soon so keep your eyes peeled!
We are delighted to officially announce the Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards Charity recipient for 2023.
SPACE Hertfordshire is a small charity, established in 2007 designed to help families navigate local services. They support 8,000 families at varying stages in their ADHD and Autism journey, subsidising and providing screening assessments, as well as running support groups, services and social events. it looks as though they have built a lovely community there in Herts!
Celebrity hosts Nicky Campbell and his daughter Kirsty selected SPACE because they have personal experience of how life changing a diagnosis can be and wanted to support a charity that helps to make the process smoother and more accessible. We look forward to handing them the customary giant cheque at the awards ceremony on September 28th.

Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month: Berwick, Brussels and Beyond!
Genius Within ambassador Paul Stevenson and four other Tourette’s Action ambassadors have been involved in creating the first TikTok docu-series on living with Tourette Syndrome (TS).
Over the course of seven weeks, coinciding with Tourette's Awareness Month, the TikTok videos have followed the lives of five people who have Tourette Syndrome. The goal was to shine a light on what TS is really like and provide an authentic portrayal of the challenges and triumphs they face every day.
The content created has been diverse and captivating, ranging from daily diary entries where they share their thoughts and experiences, to educational explanations that help you better understand TS. Paul shared video diaries and educational content from his home in Berwick, as well as during his travels.?
We have loved watching them all. The video diary format has allowed them to shape the narrative and show the world what Tourette's is genuinely like from a lived experience perspective.?
Paul also attended and represented Genius Within at the 15th Tourette Syndrome European Conference in Brussels, which took place in June. Paul participated in the Tics and Tourette Across the Globe (TTAG) panel for the Q&A session, sharing insights and exchanging ideas.
Paul would like to express his gratitude to Nottingham University. He feels immensely privileged to be associated with the incredible work they are doing. Their dedication to creating awareness and improving pathways towards the diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome is truly commendable. By focusing on early intervention, they are paving the way for a better and brighter future for individuals living with TS.
Lets keep this energy and drive to spread awareness about Tourette Syndrome every month of the year, not through the awareness month!?

Employability day?
June 30th was National Employability Day and the Genius Employability Team have been busier than ever organising brilliant events. They have hosted three webinars aimed at both employers and people seeking work, and have participated in a variety of workshops.
The theme this year was?#WorkingForBetterWork which we loved because it focuses not only on the importance of access to the workplace but also that the jobs on offer should be quality work and accessible to all. With the world of work being more flexible than ever there is no reason that neurodivergent people should be excluded.
On July 10th at 12pm, Genius Within are hosting a free webinar on how to best support your ND employees.?

Neurodiversity Inclusion to Thrive at DMA Awards
Genius Within is proud to announce our new partnership with the Data & Marketing Association’s (DMA UK) Awards.
With Genius Within CEO Jacqui Wallis joining the DMA’s Awards Committee, not only will she be able to bring her own lived experience as a neurodivergent woman, but she can also advise on what true systemic inclusion looks like for brands and companies seeking to remove barriers for neurodivergent customers and capitalise on the purple pound.
Jacqui Wallis?commented:
“Being invited to partner with the DMA Awards represents a fantastic opportunity to ensure that the inclusion lens in the marketing industry stretches as far as neurodiversity. With 15-20% of the general population being neurodivergent this is an area of diversity and inclusion that needs to be a priority for all.”
Jacqui has also been asked to be?Judge for this years'?DMA awards for the Inclusion?category.?

It goes without saying that we love all of our coaches and very much appreciate the work they do. Coaching is an opportunity to support someone in overcoming obstacles and learning how to maximise their strengths. It can be the difference between just getting through the day and absolutely loving your job. What a brilliant way to make real change in people’s lives! Using the feedback data we collect from our coaching clients we like to select a coach to celebrate.

A space to thrive...?
At the Good Ship Genius we love to help people tap into their strengths! A question that we like to ask is for?people to describe what they are like when they are working at their best. Because all brains are different some people will answer with a very straightforward list while others may tap into a metaphor to describe their state. Having so many creative and visual thinkers on our team we decided recently to collate these and turn them into a social media campaign where we chose videos that matched the descriptions. Here are one of our favourites. Why not have a think about what your answer would be? To see the full collection take a look at our Instagram page.?
