A genius as a human-like god, or why the best minds are ignored by humanity

Why can’t the world’s greatest minds solve the biggest scientific and technological and engineering problems, as machine hyperintelligence and AI quantum computing, the greatest discoveries of all time, or the world's biggest problems?

  • Climate Change
  • Wars and military conflicts
  • Water contamination
  • Human rights violation
  • Global health issues
  • Mass Poverty
  • Children's access to healthcare, education and safety
  • Access to energy, food and hunger...

An exceptionally intelligent person with an exceptionally intellectual power is a “rara avis” or “black swan”, mostly unnoticed, unrecognized and widely ignored by the mass average society. The only viable solution is to build hyperintelligent machines with encyclopedic world knowledge and superhuman intellectual power .

A genius as a human-like god or an evil genius

Humanity ignores its best minds, like a few know that the first poly-genius of all times was the great Imhotep (2667–2600 BCE),?a scientist, scribe, philosopher, astronomer, mathematician, architect, historian, and doctor. Imhotep was so great that later generations worshipped him as the god of wisdom and medicine, god of science, medicine, and architecture, Step Pyramid at Saqqara.

We are either very intelligent or not. That’s why in any school class, there is only 1–2 children really gifted. Real intelligence is a great intangible assets which is commonly underrated by all societies.

So, stay as your are, avoiding the curse of high intelligence. If you wish to succeed in the society, try to be an average person with an average mind, not to scare others.

Intelligence has rarely respected since the ancient times. Very often, too intelligent minds have been killed/poisoned/burnt/ by their societies for being too different, like as Socrates, the founder of Western philosophy, or Bruno burnt alive for his thoughts.

In common, intelligence is a curse than a blessing. Being highly intelligent is associated with psychological and physiological activities making an intelligent person think more, with a physical and emotional stress response in the body and the mind and the chance of chronic anxiety, depression, etc. As B. Russell summed it up: 'The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt'.

There is a practice that average people are happier than intelligent people. Society needs to focus on the majority and is therefore built and designed for "the average". Its resources and infrastructure are concentrated on average or below-average people, with zero resources for the minority: the exceptionally intelligent.

Ernest Hemingway wrote: "Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know".

If ignorance is bliss, high intelligence equal misery.

There are a lot of research in pedagogy, psychology, biology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, with a lot of hypotheses, theories, models and IQ tests.

Some believe in a growth mindset (fluid intelligence), while others in a fixed mindset (crystalized intelligence).

Some think that intelligence is a half genes and a half environment.

Many presume that health, education, class, lifestyle, etc. could boost your intelligence or improve your brain power.

In fact, the brain power consists of two major parts/modules/abilities/capacities:

inherent intelligence (intuition, understanding, intellect, creativity, imagination) + knowledge (data, information, memory, learning, experience).

Due to education, diet, exercise, reading, interaction, etc., one could improve his knowledge part of the brain power, but hardly intelligence.

It is like with computing machinery, which are super-fast data/information processing systems fully lacking intelligence as such.

So, it all depends how to define intelligence while generally missing true intelligence.

On Human Intelligence

On 13 December 1994, 52 intelligence researchers agreed on a definition of intelligence which was published in the Wall Street Journal:

“Intelligence is a very general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience. It is not merely book learning, a narrow academic still, or test-taking smarts. Rather, it reflects a broader and deeper capability for comprehending our surroundings – “catching on”, “making sense” of things, or “figuring out” what to do.”

Try and track AI R & D which is aimed to study intelligent mechanisms and intellectual algorithms.

To sum up, being too intelligent is to be like an alien, a being from another world, an extraterrestrial. That's why many great minds died in full misery while being critical in changing the world, transforming society, advancing knowledge and technology, and human culture.

Why so ?

“Intelligent people do not subscribe to mainstream ideas and popular opinions, or conform to societal norms and expectations. They question everything and do not bow blindly to conventional authority or prejudices”.

On Human-Like Imitative Artificial Intelligence

Human AI is a way of making software think intelligently, in a similar way the intelligent humans think. AI attempts not just to understand an intelligent entity, and the way

it perceives, understands, predicts, and manipulates a world far larger and more complicated than itself, but also attempts to build one.

AI discipline studies the way human brain thinks, and the way humans learn, decide and work, while trying to solve a particular problem.

The outcomes of this study are used as a basis for developing intelligent software and systems.

Two major goals of AI summarize what scientists and researchers aim to achieve today:

? Create expert systems i.e., systems that exhibit intelligent behaviour, learn, demonstrate, explain, and advice their users.

? Implement human intelligence in machines, i.e., create systems that understand, think, learn, and behave like humans.

The traditional AI research problems include but not limited to autonomous agents, reasoning, knowledge representation, planning, learning, natural language processing, perception, social intelligence, object/face recognition.

AI approaches to solve problems include but not limited to statistical methods, computational intelligence, and symbolic AI. Several methods and tools are used in AI, including search and mathematical optimization, arti?cial neural networks, machine learning, conceptual modelling, knowledge/ontology engineering, and methods based on statistics, probability and economics.

AI relies on computer science, mathematics, psychology, linguistics, philosophy and many others.

In the 21st century, AI techniques have experienced a resurgence, following concurrent advances related to the Internet/WWW, chipset size, computer power, volume/velocity/variety/veracity of data, social networking and theoretical understanding. AI techniques support researchers to solve many challenging problems in computer science and social life. AI applications are relevant to almost any intellectual task.

Modern arti?cial intelligence applications are pervasive and numerous.

Frequently, when an application/ technique of AI reaches mainstream use, it is no longer considered arti?cial intelligence.

Arti?cial General Intelligence (AGI) is an emerging AI research ?eld aiming at the development of “thinking machines”. AGI society describes those machines as general-purpose systems with an intelligence comparable to human intelligence (and perhaps beyond human intelligence). While this was the original goal of AI, the mainstream of AI research has focused on domain-dependent and problem-speci?c solutions.

For this reason (mainly), a new term was necessary to describe the kind of AI research that still pursues the “Grand AI Dream”. Similar terms for this kind of research include “Strong AI” and “Human-level AI”.

The road to AGI is still unpredictable by any intelligence: it requires fundamental new developments, paradigm-shifting technological and conceptual breakthroughs.

An AGI would be a machine capable of understanding the world as well as any human, and with the same capacity to learn how to carry out a huge range of tasks.

Hyperintelligent AI as an Artificial Genius

The Hyperintelligent AI is coming now, in all different ways, via specialized AI hardware and software, ML models and DL algorithms, LLMs, self-driving vehicles, IoT, intelligent devices, smart assistants, trading algorithms, intelligent humanoid robotics, etc.

The issue is a man-machine-machine-man interaction, a universal AI interface, which is interoperating and integrating all AI/ML/DL models and intelligent applications.

From one side, the Narrow/Weak AI (ML, DL, ANNs) technology has been exhausted.

From other side, it is transforming to Trans- AI or Meta-AI Technology or Hyperintelligent AI or Real AI Singularity:
