Ich freue mich schon sehr auf den CAP Implementation Workshop 2023, bei dem ich erstmals als Speakerin dabei sein werde. Vom 10. bis 12. Oktober treffen sich in der Schweiz mehr als 1.000 Fachleute aus aller Welt. Gastgeber der Konferenz sind die?United States Agency for International Development (USAID) und?Alert-Hub.Org.?

Doch was ist eigentlich CAP??

???CAP ist ein vom gemeinnützigen Konsortium OASIS entwickelter internationaler Standard zum Austausch von Warnmeldungen im XML-Format. CAP erm?glicht die gleichzeitige Verbreitung von Warnmeldungen über viele Warnsysteme für unterschiedlichste Anwendungen.?

???85 Prozent?der Weltbev?lkerung lebt in einem Land, in dem es ein zentrales Warnsystem gibt, das auf CAP beruht.?

???Wir von der mecom sind Teil des internationalen Netzwerkes OASIS und bringen dort unsere Expertise rund um das Thema Warnmeldungen ein. Mit unserem Modularen Warnsystem (#MoWaS), das wir für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland?seit 20 Jahren betreiben und kontinuierlich weiterentwickeln, geh?ren wir zu den führenden Playern in diesem Bereich.?

Aber ich?gebe ehrlich zu: Ich bin ganz sch?n aufgeregt.????Immerhin bin ich die einzige Speakerin aus Deutschland.?????

Ich freue mich auf den fachlichen Austausch mit den vielen internationalen Expert:innen aus NGOs, Wirtschaft und Beh?rden?wie UNICEF, United Nations,?International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Google, usw. Das wird sicherlich ein gro?artiges Event!?

I am really looking forward to the CAP Implementation Workshop 2023, in which I’ll participate as a speaker for the first time. From October 10 through 12, more than 1,000 experts from all over the world will meet in Switzerland. The conference will be co-hosted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and?Alert-Hub.Org.?

Our topic: Population alerts throughout the world and the important role the Common Alerting Protocol (#CAP) is playing in this.?

But what exactly is CAP??

?

???CAP is an international standard for the exchange of warning messages in XML format, developed by the non-profit consortium OASIS. CAP enables the simultaneous dissemination of warning messages through many alerting systems and a great variety of applications.?

???85 percent of the global population lives in countries that have a central alerting system based on CAP.?

???We at mecom are part of the international network OASIS, contributing our expertise on the topic of population alerts. With our Modular Warning System (#MoWaS), which we have been operating and continuously developing further for the Federal Republic of Germany for the last 20 years, we are one of the leading players in the sector.?

How does the dissemination of population alerts work in Germany and what is the role of CAP in this????

To be totally honest, I am pretty excited. ???After all, I will be the only speaker from Germany.?????

I am looking forward to the professional exchange with many international experts from NGOs, the business community, institutions such as?UNICEF, the United Nations,?the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Google, etc. I am sure that this will be a great event.
