Genesis and Journey II Knee Systems

The Genesis II Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and the Journey II Bi-Cruciate Stabilized (BCS) Total Knee System (TKS) are used to alleviate and reduce various kind of knee pains and deformities. 

The 10 year results from the Genesis II TKR showed a 98% success rate with significant improvements in health-related quality-of-life outcomes. 

Only 2% of knees were reopened because of deep sepsis (infection) and stiffness.

None were re-opened for implant related failure mechanism (Loose items, fractures etc.)

The Genesis II is available in eight Femoral and Tibial component sizes that is secured with bone cement fixation

The Oxinium and Oxidized Zirconium material allows for the Genesis II to be wear resistance, lightweight and a hypoallergenic TKR.

The implant is safe and effective for active women who suffer from arthritis, inflammation, fracture, or deformity.  

The Journey II Bi-Cruciate Stabilized implant offers orthopedic surgeons treatment solutions beyond traditional knee replacement methods. 

Through PHYSIOLOGICAL MATCHING technology, the TKS works to rejuvenate life by breaking down barriers and unmatched functions of motion along with durability that alleviates and reduces pain. 

PHYSIOLOGICAL MATCHING technology is a unique process that begins with “proprietary human simulation software that virtually recreates the exact internal shapes and angled forces that act on the knee through each phase of motion.”

With the restoration of both the anatomic A/P alignment, the normal kinematic patterns produce more normal neuromuscular firing patterns throughout the range of motion. 

More normal neuromuscular firing patterns throughout the range of motion may improve a patient’s ability to perform the activities they are demanding as it can alleviate and reduce pain. 

The Journey II BCS system competes in competitive markets by exhibiting lower mean hospital stays and overall reduced costs when compared to other knee products.

In a study conducted with 1,700 Journey II BCS patients and the same number of other comparable knee implants, data showed that with the Journey II BCS system 51% are less likely to be readmitted to the hospital within 30 days. Along with 35% being more likely to be discharged to their home, and 41% being less likely to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility for further care. 

Patients with the Journey II BCS TKS experienced significantly reduced lengths of stay and reduced hospital costs along with a smoother recovery, improved function, and increased patient satisfaction.
