A very interesting piece. I like the evolutionary take you have on this development. My question is if your think that gen AI content creation is de rigueur to optimise content for AI platforms? I do think AI has a role in creating GEO content (keywords, desk research etc. etc.). However, as it stands, I would question the ability of gen AI to create "high-quality, relevant, and engaging material." Writing is getting better, but "high-quality" doesn't just mean "well-written" - it involves original content. Anything I've read to date about GEO (including academic research into the topic) has pointed to a need for originality for ranking. And that means more than just extrapolating from existing information. And from what I've learned about GEO so far, originality will be key.
