Generative AI: A new inflection point for humanity, and the world of technology.

Generative AI and the launch of Chat GPT has sparked a flurry of conversations in the world of technology. As a “people first” leader, I am so optimistic about generative AI and the possibility of its positive impact on businesses, and on our everyday lives.

The rate and pace of new technology adoption is “accelerating at an accelerating pace.”

?… and I love it!

Over the past 10 years, I have been very curious about AI, and I have actively taken the time to learn about this technology and its possibilities. I have worked on developing use cases that include Video Ai, Voice AI, Natural Language Processing, Conversional Ai, and Large Language Models.?The more I learn about AI and develop new use cases, the more I realize that we are still at the very beginning of realizing its full potential.

The introduction of ChatGPT is a great accelerator to showcase what is possible with AI.

A free ChatGPT account is good enough to experiment, learn, and understand the possibilities of this new technology.

The opportunity for every industry to harness AI and unlock human capabilities is truly exciting. This is a new inflection point for humanity and the world of technology.?

Ethical AI, Data Use and Data Privacy, will need be at the center of enabling positive use cases.

There will always be bad actors who will look for ways to exploit new technology, but I remain confident that as a society, we will navigate these challenges effectively.

It is important to bring different disciplines together to make the most of AI. It's not just computer scientists and engineers who should be shaping AI's development. Psychologists, ethicists, sociologists, and representatives from various other fields should also contribute to discussions and decision-making about AI's role in society.

In the not-so-distant past, the calculator was viewed with suspicion. Critics questioned whether it would undermine basic arithmetic skills and make us overly dependent on technology. Yet, it was soon clear that the benefits far outweighed these concerns.?The calculator amplified our ability to solve complex mathematical problems quickly and accurately.?The calculator has become so mainstream that it is now embedded into our smart phones.

Like any new technology, there is a learning curve…and yes, we need to navigate the ethical implications carefully. These are reasons to shape this technology responsibly, not reject it.

The same way we learned to use calculators effectively in classrooms and workplaces, we must learn to use AI productively and ethically.

AI is seen by some as a threat, with fears of job displacement and loss of human control. Yet, just as the calculator did not replace our need to understand math but instead augmented our capabilities, AI promises to augment human intelligence, not replace it.

Embracing AI does not mean blindly accepting every application or ignoring potential downsides. It means taking a balanced approach, recognizing the transformative power of AI, and leveraging it for the benefit of businesses and society. We don't fear calculators, we leverage them. Let's apply that same perspective to AI, using it as a tool to amplify human potential and make our world a better place.

I am personally excited about a product called Vasana, which my team is actively working on developing. Vasana is a behavioral genome that utilizes Conversational Ai, Voice Ai, Video Ai, Deep Learning, Game Theory, and Natural Language Processing.?

Vasana is designed to improve and automate human behavioral diagnostics and therapeutics. The goal is to improve human connection, reduce friction between people, reduce loneliness, and ultimately reduce suicidal ideation.

This is not about jumping on a bandwagon, or even thinking about it as a bandwagon. AI is not just another passing fad. This is about learning more about a technology that will become pervasive in every facet of our lives.

We are living in a time of unprecedented progress and innovation, and these technologies have the power to transform our world in ways that we can only begin to imagine.
