- DeepMind and the Brain team from Google Research will be joining forces as a single, focused unit called Google DeepMind DeepMind is known for creating AlphaGo, the first program to beat a human professional Go player, and AlphaZero, a general game-playing system that can master chess, shogi, and Go without any human input. Google said that DeepMind will join its AI division and continue to pursue fundamental research and applications of AI.
- BloombergGPT: The Largest and Most Powerful Language Model for Finance #Bloomberg has developed a 50 billion parameter language model that is specialized for the financial domain. The model, called BloombergGPT, is trained on a massive dataset of 363 billion tokens from various financial sources, such as news, reports, filings, transcripts, and more. The model achieves state-of-the-art results on several financial tasks, such as sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and question answering. The model also performs well on general language tasks, such as natural language inference and text summarization. Bloomberg plans to release the training logs of the model to share its experience and insights.
- Adobe Firefly: How generative AI will transform video and audio creation Adobe announced #AdobeFirefly, a new #generativeai service that will enable a natural conversation between creator and computer. Firefly will allow users to type in their own words and use simple gestures to generate images, text effects, video, audio, animation and motion graphics. #Firefly is now available in beta and will be integrated into Adobe’s video and audio tools, such as Premiere Pro and After Effects, in the near future.
- Elon Musk reveals his plan for a ‘maximum truth-seeking AI’ called TruthGPT Elon Musk says he is working on a new generative AI model that aims to understand the nature of the universe and avoid annihilating humans. The model, called #TruthGPT, is a ChatGPT alternative that will use natural language and gestures to generate content. #Musk says TruthGPT will be a course correction to #OpenAI, which he co-founded but later left due to disagreements.
- NVIDIA shows how to make realistic videos from text or codes with AI NVIDIA has developed a new AI method that can make realistic videos from text or codes. The method, called Video LDMs, uses a special kind of AI model that can learn from images and videos and generate new ones. The method can also make low-quality videos look better by adding more details. The method can be used for different purposes, such as creating realistic driving scenes or making videos from text descriptions.
- Stability AI launches its first open-source language model for text and code generation Stability AI, the company behind the popular open-source image model Stable Diffusion, has entered the language model game with its first product, StableLM. StableLM is a large language model (LLM) that can generate text and code from natural language prompts or latent codes. StableLM is trained on a huge dataset of 800 billion tokens, and comes in two sizes: 3 billion and 7 billion parameters. Stability AI claims that StableLM can compete with larger models from OpenAI, Meta and Stanford on conversational and coding tasks.
