The Generation Gap - Transformation vs Disruption.

The Generation Gap - Transformation vs Disruption.

Impossible is a Mind-SET. Possible is Mind-FLUID. - #ExCivilian

Why Disrupt?

The Oxford Dictionary defines disruption as a disturbance or problem interrupting an event, activity, or process. This definition represents the traditional way of looking at the term. When I first encountered the term 'disruptive tech,' I pondered: Why disrupt? Why not construct? This thought arose because I had yet to witness the transformative power of disruption in action.

This article delves into how I navigated my initial scepticism about disruption in the modern age and how I have come to understand and accept disruption as my way of living.

The advent of grinding mills disrupted the traditional method of grinding flour, which involved using cattle tied to a stone grinder and was time-consuming. Similarly, Twitter (now X) rendered telegram (short messages sent via the postal department) outdated, while email made letter writing obsolete.

What would you like? You wake up in the morning and find a brand new road laid in front of your home...or.... the old one dug up and the sound of tar furnace, the rollers in the process of transforming your ugly road ?

Isn't that transformation?

Transformation entails a gradual shift from the negative (less effective) to the positive (more effective). Disruption, conversely, signifies the abrupt end of the negative and the swift commencement of the positive. When a process with ten steps is gradually refined over ten months, it represents transformation. Conversely, creating a new design with only five steps, significantly enhancing efficiency, and implementing it within 30 days or less exemplifies disruptive improvement.

Slow learners, frogs in a dish of heating water (comfort zone), and the like desist Disruptive technology. It's not easy to accept that everything you've been doing so far will change, and you'll have to start from ground zero and learn at the speed of lightning.

In comparison to disruption, transformation may sound more appealing. It signifies a slow and steady change, providing a comfortable transition for individuals to realign their thoughts, feelings, and actions with new developments. However, this gradual pace can feel suffocating for those driven by the relentless ticking of an invisible hourglass. The transition into the security domain, which gave me a sense of urgency, exemplifies this need for speed and efficiency. For individuals like me, who value precision and rapid progress, disruption is preferred over old-school methodologies.

Nevertheless, transformation faces a significant threat. Every process improvement encounters obstacles, particularly from parties with vested interests in maintaining the status quo or parallel businesses reliant on system redundancies. Suppose complacent minds or roadblocks hinder the transformation process. In that case, it provides ample time for these entities to establish comfort zones within the new system, potentially creating a new redundant & transformed system of complacency.

In fact, this is one of the best weeding processess there is. You don't have to do anything, the non-performers and those unwiling to relearn and excel will weed themselves out. Something I see that is going to happen in the Private Security Industry in the next few years. And will spread to all the other supporting ones.

Despite the challenges, disruption displaces individuals who resist change, paving the way for fresh talent eager to adapt and excel based on merit. Integrating and rewarding integrity, loyalty, and innovation into the disrupted new system ensures that individuals driven by continuous learning and innovation emerge as the new heroes.

Ultimately, disruption catalyzes change by dismantling outdated processes, eliminating resistance to change, and fostering innovation. It clears the path for a new beginning, enabling the PHOENIX (individuals) to rise from the ashes of the old system and embrace a transformative journey towards progress.

In conclusion, the difference between embracing a Disruptive Mind-FLUID lies in the individual's readiness to challenge the status quo, innovate relentlessly, and drive positive change. Disrupters, or solutionists, possess a fluid mindset that propels them to seek out new technologies, experiment with novel ideas, and push boundaries to achieve transformative results. Their unwavering belief in the power of technology and commitment to constant evolution set them apart as key makers who unlock solutions to complex challenges.

Not happy with the ability of the law enforcement or other stakeholders in preventing crime, here's is the disruption you can cause to bring a complete shift in PUBLIC SECURITY & SAFETY. Click here to read about it. Please note - This Article might NOT BE FOR the generation who believe in Transformation.

Disruption is not just a mindset; it is a fluid state of mind that thrives on innovation, curiosity, and a proactive approach to driving progress and positive change. Embracing a disruptive mindset entails a willingness to challenge conventions, take risks, and harness technological advancements to create a better future.

Until my next .... #StayICY? (In Code Yellow)

While living things and over time we al adapt there are benefits to mankind’s hard labor verses forced exercise at gyms. I propose to you that technologies are criminal in the sense that they steal and take throughput the society and systems now with and without humans control over themselves, health, education, safety, privacy law, government and engagement not even touching labor and our reliance and our very memories being dulled to the point of forgetting what we already knew! Let us begin, on a global scale, to united as people and say “no, not like this”, .. No one would let a person or machine in their body, in their family relationships, in our homes, businesses schools and every areas of human life function and security without the ability to control and stop the degree of engagement or power over all these elements governing human lives.
