Generating Momentum
Russell Dalgleish
Scottish Serial Entrepreneur, Connector and Entrepreneur in Residence
At the start of a new year, we are all like racing cars on the starting grid. Our goal is to get up to full race pace as quickly as possible.
This is not the time to focus on working through all those emails you have received over the vacation period, this is not the moment for internal meetings or long-winded planning sessions, now is the time for action.
If you are an entrepreneur with a vision to deliver then now is the time to pick up the phone and requalify your sales pipeline.
And I emphasise the need to call prospects. There is no point messaging them as they, like you face a mountain of correspondence.
And don't default to scheduling a Zoom or Teams call instead pick up the phone and call them now.
If you commit fully to this then by the end of the first day you will have snatched the lead position in the race against your competitors.
Remember the game of business is a compeition and it's one you need to win.
Good luck.

Here are my thoughts on how to make the most of the year ahead. At this moment '25 could be your best ever year but only you can make this happen.
2. I urge you to take action
In my experience, it is consistent action which is the catalyst for creating clarity, growth, and the environment for "luck" to flourish.

LinkedIn Hints & Tips
This will sound counterintuitive but including a message in your LinkedIn connection request makes it less likely that your invitation will be accepted. If you send a Connection Request with no message then there is more likelihood the recipient will check out your profile which is the best marketing material you have to promote you as an individual.
The Week Ahead
I love getting out during the first week of the year to hold as many face-to-face meetings as possible, hence you won't be surprised to hear that I will be in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh this week.
I hope to see you about :)
