Generate more time by removing this phrase from your mind.

Big question: How often do you make time to do the things you value?

Whether to learn a new skill, try something new, or have an uncomfortable conversation.

Usually doing things I just said are the times you grew the most. However, you only probably did those things because you were either forced to change or you knew you had to change.

By human nature, if given the choice, we tend to be routine creatures of habit. Our why we can’t evolve is usually a version of the phrase, “I’m too busy.” I’m too busy to go on new adventures.

Every week, we have 168 hours to make things happen for us. Yet, it’s as if the heroes we admire are the ones in 170 hour week club and the rest of us never got an invite. They have all the time in the world to go to see and do new things

How can you have 170 hour weeks?

It’s very simple. After talking to hundreds of successful people, I learned that by omitting a phrase we commonly use we can make more time in our lives. We can join the 170 hour club.

That phrase is, “I’m too busy.”

After 9 years of my career, I figured how I’m able to be a present husband, take care of my family, be a present owner of two businesses, and learning how to do another business. All while consistently giving myself an hour a day to read, learn Spanish, write a joke to practice my stand up, and journal.

It’s something I learned from a book I read called The Big Leap, which studies how to break past your limit. A concept they speak about is how the most successful people CREATE time rather than WORK WITHIN time.

The secret is to never say, “I’m too busy.”

Why? Cause that’s a cop out answer. If you want to do it, schedule time to do it right then and there if it’s important OR flat out say no. The first no is the hardest, but cleanest.

The result? Magically, you’ll have more time to do things. And when you have more time, make it for yourself.

That’s when you can make time for new adventures.

Hopefully some of the adventures you choose to take with your new time takes you out of your comfort zone and help you grow .

Either way, welcome to the 170 hour a week club!

You are spot on, Kenny! Some might consider this a Jedi mind trick, but the self-limiting effects that come with "I'm too busy" also prevent learning & growth.
