1.What is logistics & Transportation?
Logistics: A company that provides management over the flow of goods and materials between points of origin to end-use destination. The provider will often handle shipping, inventory, warehousing, packaging and security functions for shipments.

Multimodal Transport is the combination of different means of transport, in order to facilitate the movement of cargo, i.e. making it faster and more efficient.

These Are Called Booking Types in Logistics Industry:
LTL: Less Than Truck Load
PTL: Partial Truck Load
FTL: Full Truck Load
ODC: Over Dimensional Cargo
9.What is basic freight in logistics?
When We have booked any material for transportation. Then We have charged a minimum Freight Per Box, Per KG, Flat etc. Which called Basic freight. After Calculating this freight, we have charge other Add on Freight.

No Limit of Others charges which we are calculating in transportation / Logistics industry. But Some of Other add on charges which are normally calculating in this industry are there: Docket Charge, COD: Change of Destination FOD: Freight on Dock, FOV Freight on Value,
ODA: out-of-delivery area, Delivery Charge, Handling Charge, Fuel Charge etc.

FOV: Freight on Value: This Charge Is Calculating on Material Invoice Value
COD: Cash on Delivery: This Charges We are calculating that time when any party ask material value from customer at the time of delivery.
Fuel Charge: This Charge Calculate on Basic Freight of Consignment Booking.
BOD: This Is not any charge type. This Called Payment Types. When We have booked material in Topay Basis & Party Provide our payment after some material delivery then we marked that type customer in BOD.
ODA: Outer of Delivery Area. When we have booked material for delivery outside from our serviceable area that type delivery called ODA.
HAMALI: Handling Charge, have to collect from customers.
GR Charge: This Is Statistical / Document Charge which we are using for material booking.

FOV: 0.2%,
COD: Rs.300/-
Fuel Charge: 15%,
GR Charge: Rs.100/-
13.What is Quantity in Logistics?
Quantity: No of Materials. This May Be in Box, Bag, Roll, Drum, Sheets, Metals, wooden box etc.

Actual Weight: When We have booked the material & We weight that material by weight machine that called actual weight.
15.How we can calculate Charge Weight / Volumetric Weight in Logistics?
Formula: L x W x H/1728XCFT = Per Box Weight. Here H Indicate Height of Material, W Indicate Width of Material, L Indicate Length of Material, 1728 Indicate Cubic Centimeter (12x12x12), CFT is Cubic Feet Which We Have Decide for Calculation. As per company norms.

Charge / Volumetric Weight: If we book material & those materials taking extra space as per actual weight then we calculate Volumetric / Charge Weight.
