Holding Predators Accountable

On January 4, 2023,?Trivette Leonard of Meadville, Mississippi, was sentenced by Pike County Circuit Judge David H. Strong Jr. to twenty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, including six years to serve day-for-day and five years of supervised post-release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from incarceration.?

This is a great example of interstate cooperation to stop child predators. My office first began its investigation in this case based on a tip from the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the counterpart to the Mississippi Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force managed by my office. In the end, we uncovered over 1,000 sexually explicit images of children on his device. Working together, we are keeping children safer.
