GENERAL IDEA OF RAILWAY SIGNALLING SYSTEM
GENERAL IDEA OF RAILWAY SIGNALLING SYSTEM
OVERVIEW OF SIGNALLING:
Trains move on fixed?#rails, making them uniquely susceptible to?#collision. #Interlocking is set of different equipments used in #railway industry to make sure the movement of train 100% risk and collision free. In advance railway system we use following equipments in signalling.
we will discuss discuss deeply regarding purpose and functionality of all the #equipment used in signalling system.
POINT MACHINE:
#Point #machines known as the heart of #signalling #system. Point machines are used on?movable sections of track, allowing #trains to move from one line to another. Main purpose of point machine to move the train from one track to another track when ever it is required to maximize track utility and traffic.

AXLE COUNTER:
Main purpose of #axle #counter to #count the train wheels and divide the track in small #sections to know the accurate location of train. Axle counter participate major role to maximize the traffic on track because it gives you the exact information about the location of all #trains on #track.
An axle counter is a system used in #railway #signalling?to detect the clear or occupied status of a section of track between two #points. The system generally consists of a wheel sensor (one for each end of the section) and an evaluation unit for counting the axles of the train both into and out of the section.
FIXED SIGNALS:
Fixed Physical signals are erected at the lineside?to indicate to drivers whether the line ahead is occupied and to ensure that sufficient space exists between #trains to allow them to stop. We have different types of fixed signals being used in #railways.
It depend upon the project requirement what kind of signals we will use in specific are because all type of signals have different functionalities.
Eurobalise/Beacon
A #Eurobalise is?a specific type of a #balise installed between the rails of a railway. #Eurobalises are part of the European train control system (#etcs / #ertms ). The balises are pre-programmed, and contain information that is read by train antennas. One of their many functions is to allow a train to determine its location.

1 年Nice info! It shall be noted that in some architectures there are also the Lineside Electronic Units (LEU) and euroloops.
