The General Administration of Customs of China has issued the "Measures for the Administration of Tax Collection on Import and Export Goods" (Order No. 272), which will come into effect on December 1, 2024. The revision aims to align with the "Tariff Law" and adapt to the current tax collection practices. It solidifies reform achievements, adds provisions for tax confirmation, implements risk-based tax collection, and adjusts the applicable dates for tax rates and exchange rates. The new measures also include provisions for tax enforcement and remove outdated rules on tax reduction and exemption.
