Gen Zs surpass millennials as the toughest generation to manage

GEN Z: Forty-nine percent of managers say it's difficult to work with Gen Z all or most of the time, according to a recent Resume Builder ?survey?of over 1,000 managers and business leaders. Seventy-four percent even believe Gen Z is?more difficult to work with than other generations, and would prefer to work with millennials.?

According to respondents, the reason they feel Gen Z is difficult to work with is because they lack technological skills, effort and motivation. But those shortcomings hint to deeper, more convoluted issues that?date back to the pandemic.?Unlike the generations that came before them, many Gen Zs spent the majority of their college careers in a virtual setting and many even have started internships and entry-level jobs online instead of in-person, which could account for the disconnect they experience now with their managers.?

RETIREMENT: As the threat of?climate catastrophe?looms, investment management companies have moved to provide their customers with sustainability-focused portfolios and increased transparency regarding where money is being invested. But is that enough?

Environmental activists from the grassroots organization Earth Quaker Action Team don't think so. Last month, around 100 Quakers, activists and customers came together to protest at Vanguard 's headquarters in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, where 16 were arrested. Vanguard is not only one of the biggest investment and assessment management firms in the world, but it is now the leading investor in fossil fuels, surpassing its competitor BlackRock this year, according to a report by the German environmental and human rights group Urgewald .?

This shift comes just four months after Vanguard pulled out of the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) Initiative, which encourages investment firms to reach a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions target by 2050. And while Vanguard does offer investment products that meet net-zero objectives, some customers are afraid that simply will not turn the tides in the environment's favor.?
