Israel's ban on Al Jazeera sparks a debate on press freedom vs. national security.

?? PM Netanyahu vowed to shut down Al Jazeera in Israel, citing the outlet's potential to be a “terror channel”. AP News thinks the move could escalate tensions with Qatar.

?? The Guardian says the ban was met with outcry. Critics say the move is a blow to press freedom.

?? But Israeli legislators defended the move: The new law targets Al Jazeera's “harmful” coverage. It protects Israel's national security.
