Gems from an old Diary

Dear All,

I found an old diary from 2022.

In such a 'wow' moment, I think back to the words of Jim Rohn who asked people to keep diaries so they can get back to written words when ever they would need it.

Also, I think back to the Law Adage that says 'the faintest pen is better than the sharpest memory'

So, let us explore knowledge from a year ago.

Difference between Naive practice and Purposeful practice

Naive Practice is essentially doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting that the repetition alone will improve one's performance.

And this is how 99% of the World practice. They do things over and over again. After getting decent at it, they stop improving even though they are doing the same things.

On the other hand, Purposeful or Deliberate practice involves putting together a bunch of baby steps to reach a longer term goal. Purposeful practice has well defined, specific goals. Purposeful practice requires getting out of one's comfort zone.

The Solution is not to try harder but to try differently.

A question every leader must ask himself at every point in time is 'What is the best way to train people who are already good at their Job?'

'What is the best way to improve performance among people who are already trained and on the Job?'

The biggest generator of long term results is learning to do things when you do not feel like doing them. If you let excuses or emotions drive behaviour, you are cheating your future self.

Still scrolling through the diary, I discovered some things, very private things that I can not share, lol. They were private memories that kept me going in my private moments.

Above all, I am really grateful I found my old diary.

And this is a call to you to pick up your old diary and relive past moments.
