GemCap Sustainability Committee Update
We’re delighted to share the quarterly update from the GemCap Sustainability Committee. Thanks to our Business Implementation Manager Sanchit Janda for preparing this quarter’s update.
At GemCap, we are deeply committed to our community and are mindful of the impact we have on our surroundings—whether it’s the place we work, the people we collaborate with or the way we conduct our business. Our goal is to inspire others in the Funds Industry to initiate similar efforts or join our pre-arranged plans. We strive to create a positive ecosystem within GemCap and beyond.
It’s been a busy quarter, but we managed to sneak in a few updates to keep our Sustainability Meter in check. Some of the updates are below, please feel free to reach out to us if you want to learn more about any of these.
Summertime Half-Day Incentive
In appreciation of everyone’s hard work during the year, GemCap employees received an incentive to take every other Friday as a half day during the summer months. This helped the team maintain their work life balance and enjoy the Friday summer evenings.
GemCap Corporate Video
A lot of what we do starts and ends with the brilliant people at every stage of Investment Management, Fund Operations and Distribution. We have always been vocal about how much we appreciate all our stakeholders in making our business a success and there was no better way of showcasing it than to create a video with some of us talking a little bit about what we do. This video turned out to be a great product showing the work put in by the videographers and it was an incredibly fun process (keep an eye out for bloopers!).
For those who haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it here.
Fairmental – Fermentation Class!
A little random but we decided to take a fermentation class earlier in September to get some team building in and catch that last bit of sunshine! It was an amazing experience as we all worked through a bowl full of veggies to prepare our own batch of sauerkraut to take home. Happy to say, although we had loads of glass jars on our way back, none of them were accidentally broken (me proudly saying this as a clumsy person). We tried our fermented products last week and the results were fantastic. We also got to try Kombucha and some fermented products that Fairmental were working on.

Green Team Network Roundtable Lunch
We were delighted to host the Roundtable Lunch with and for the Green Team Network. This was an opportunity to bring together a number of organisations who are participants in the Green Pledge initiative by the Network. The purpose of the roundtable was to discuss and compare latest actions and establish a pathway to further elevate Green Pledge rankings. If you want to learn more about the Green Team Network and the Green Pledge initiative, please visit the Green Team Network website.
GemCap joins Independent Investment Management Initiative (IIMI)!
The IIMI is a member-led industry think tank representing specialist investment managers. We’re very pleased to be working with an organisation that shares so many of our values, supporting Investment Managers in getting their message out. It’s a brilliant City of London initiative and we’re in good company, sharing the platform with some excellent Investment Managers and TPMs.
Being part of IIMI resonates with our values of participating in our professional communities to continue fostering a positive circle. To learn more about IIMI, please visit the IIMI website. At GemCap, we value each contribution and remain committed to fostering a supportive and sustainable environment for our community.
