Gearing Up for AWS re:Invent 2023: What to Expect

AWS re:Invent is the largest cloud computing event in the world, with over 50,000 attendees descending upon Las Vegas each year to learn about the latest from Amazon Web Services. As we look ahead to re:Invent 2023, there are a few trends I expect to see emerge:
The rise of machine learning and artificial intelligence will continue to dominate the keynotes and sessions. AWS has been investing heavily in these areas, with new services like Amazon Personalize for custom machine learning models, Amazon Forecast for time-series forecasting, and Amazon Rekognition for image and video analysis with deep learning. I expect AWS to unveil even more AI and ML services at re:Invent 2023 to provide their customers with a fully integrated AI platform.
Serverless computing will take center stage.? Serverless allows developers to build and run applications without thinking about servers. AWS already offers a range of serverless services, including AWS Lambda for running code without provisioning servers and Amazon API Gateway for creating and deploying REST APIs. At re:Invent 2023, I predict AWS will launch additional serverless database, messaging, and storage options to provide an end-to-end serverless platform.?

There will be a stronger focus on hybrid cloud and multi-cloud. As more enterprises adopt a multi-cloud strategy, AWS will highlight new partnerships and services aimed at simplifying the management of workloads across cloud providers. For example, AWS Outposts, which brings AWS infrastructure and services to customer data centers, will likely see some major enhancements. I also expect AWS to strengthen its partnership with VMware to make it even easier for enterprises to run VMware workloads on AWS.
AWS always has a surprise announcement up its sleeve for re:Invent, but based on their areas of heavy investment over the past year, machine learning, serverless computing, and hybrid cloud are good bets for dominating the keynotes and igniting conversations among attendees. Overall, AWS re:Invent 2023 promises to be an exciting event with many new services and capabilities to help enterprises innovate in the cloud. I look forward to learning about all the latest announcements!
