GE MagneBlast Switchgear Upgrade

A retrofill solution upgrades existing switchgear by installing a Square D Type VR draw-out medium-voltage circuit breaker and cell into an existing line-up. Necessary modifications – including an all-new racking mechanism, primary and secondary disconnects and customized bus connections – are made to the existing cell.

• Contact wear indicator
• The elevator-like racking system will be eliminated and circuit breaker racking can be performed with the door closed.

In addition, the Square D Type VR draw-out circuit breakers have minimal maintenance requirements and offer flexibility for use with new Square D MasterClad medium-voltage switchgear. Optional relay protection is also available and current transformers may be added without modifications to the primary current path.
