eBay's stock took a hit after reporting less than impressive quarterly results. Although revenue and earnings per share were in line with Wall Street's estimates, profits dropped by 94% versus last year, giving investors a scare. The company may be adjusting its strategy with Amazon in mind, but Christian Magoon, CEO of Amplify ETFs, says Amazon doesn't even think about Ebay.

Those deals on Amazon may not be as good as you think. Regulators reportedly looking into allegations that Amazon misleads shoppers about the size of its discounts by advertising a suggested retail or list price that's higher than the actual cost. The investigation is part of the Federal Trade Commission's review of Amazon's purchase of Whole Foods, according to Reuters.

GE HITS LOWEST LEVEL IN 12 YEARS:

Shares of General Electric are falling to their lowest level in about a year and a half. The company's latest earnings report showed a 12 percent drop in revenue. GE is about to get a new CEO, as -John Flannery replaces Jeff Immelt in a couple weeks.

Samsung has set a date for what will likely be the unveiling of the Galaxy Note 8. The smartphone maker sending out invitations for its next "Galaxy Unpacked" event in New York City on August 23. Samsung is counting on the Note 8 to resurrect the brand after a massive recall of its Note 7 last year.
