Key documents on Consent and Transparency are currently out for review with comments closing on 23rd January. These are vitally important documents and key to any company updating systems and processes. Is it reasonable to produce such important documents so late in the day?

Hopefully working towards the core spirit of GDPR, you should be ok. It would be very unfair to change too much at this stage.

Ideally...it would have been great to see all those guidelines earlier. However I found that there are nothing really really shocking or new in those guidelines that were not covered in GDPR trainings (the one I did at least). Next, as many are saying, GDPR is only starting in May 2018. It's a first milestone, and I think we should all expect to adapt as guidelines / code of conducts / ruling are made. But yes...this can be frustrating.
