Gazelle Wind Power, Maersk Supply Service to develop floating wind pilot project

Gazelle Wind Power has signed a memorandum of understanding with offshore support vessel owner Maersk Supply Service to support the development of a 2-MW pilot plant using Gazelle’s innovative wind platform.

The pilot project will be installed at the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN). Maersk Supply Service will provide the project’s engineering, procurement, construction and installation, which is expected to be completed in Q2 2023.

The project will demonstrate Gazelle’s patented hybrid floating wind platform and first-of-its-kind dynamic mooring system. Gazelle’s technology recently secured a statement of feasibility from DNV. The company claims that it combines the best attributes of the most popular floating offshore wind platforms without their drawbacks.?The full story is on the OWJ website.
