GAVIN NEWSOM’S ATTACK ON CALIFORNIA PHYSICIANS

America’s favorite vampire governor, Gavin Newsom of California, recently thrust a sharp knife in the back of the First Amendment in the Golden State, potentially endangering the lives and livelihoods of thousands of patients and physicians.

In late September, Newsom – whose pathetic governance of our largest state has resulted in widespread homelessness, the highest poverty rate in the nation, rampant crime in major cities, a collapsing public school system, and a massive exodus of residents, businesses, and jobs to Texas, Florida, and Tennessee – signed Assembly Bill 2098 which authorizes the Medical Board of California to impose severe sanctions against physicians who dare to advise their patients on medical treatments and therapies that could conflict with the dictum of America’s lying and discredited medical establishment, embodied by Anthony Fauci,?Rochelle Walensky and the CDC. These sanctions could include the actual stripping of medical licenses from doctors.

Newsom’s action is a direct assault not only on the First Amendment but it is a violation of medical privacy, infringes on the cherished physician-patient relationship and seeks to replace the professional judgment of a trained medical provider with the whim of a politician. It denies physicians the “equal protection of the laws” guaranteed by the 14th Amendment by singling out doctors for specific restrictions on their speech. It is blatantly unconstitutional and must be overturned by the courts.

For three years, the American people have been lied to about COVID-19 by the nation’s political leaders and medical bureaucrats. They have told us not to worry about COVID-19 and then said it was a pandemic. They advised against shutting down travel from Communist China, then praised President Trump’s action for saving thousands of lives. They said COVID was caused by Chinese wet markets instead of admitting it was the result of illegal “gain-of-function” research at the Wuhan Lab funded by Dr. Fauci. They rolled out testing that didn’t work. They said masks didn’t work, then advised us to wear one, two, or three masks. They imposed mask mandates, then withdrew them, only to reinstate them a short time later. Indoors, Outdoors, everywhere. They told us to “socially distance” without one whit of contemporary evidence indicating that standing six feet away from your neighbor would save a single life. They closed schools and small businesses, but let Costco and Walmart stay open, as if the Chinese virus could differentiate venues. They deceived the public by claiming deaths with COVID were deaths because of COVID. They ridiculed the efficacy of off-label therapeutics like ivermectin which have been used successfully for years to treat various illnesses. They told us the COVID-19 vaccines would keep you from contracting the virus. Then, they admitted the vaccines do not stop transmission. They said you only needed one shot, then maybe two, and then a booster and then multiple boosters, probably for the rest of your life. They insisted on vaccine mandates just as VAERS and other reports of serious side effects and deaths associated with the experimental spike protein vaccines surged. Lies, lies, and more lies.

Now, Gavin Newsom says physicians are the culprits, they are the ones at fault for so-called COVID “misinformation.” If anyone deserves a prize for chutzpah, it’s the Governor of California!

Of course, California law already protects patients and punishes physicians for lying to them or mistreating them for any illness, including COVID-19. The purpose of Assembly Bill 2098 is simply to cover up the lies concerning COVID that are now resulting in millions of injuries and thousands of deaths due to cardiac arrest, myocarditis, and blood clots. There can be no questioning of the “development, safety and effectiveness” of the vaccines, just as thousands of young adults are suddenly dying due to something called “Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.”

George Orwell, move over. It’s time for Gavin Newsom. By censoring doctors, the state of California has entered dangerous territory. Unless this law is rescinded, the most sacred precincts of the doctor-patient relationship will be invaded by government. Doctors will no longer feel free to speak openly with their patients, to express their opinion, to share their knowledge and expertise. Physicians will be effectively muzzled by the state. There are already stories of doctors self-censoring and refusing to discuss COVID with their patients. And, why stop with COVID? What’s to prevent government from eventually censoring any discussion about alternative cancer treatments or unorthodox therapies or “right-to-try” drugs? This can only lead to more suffering and more death.

Under Newsom’s legislation, doctors’ careers could be ruined, their patients may be denied life-saving information or treatment, and lawsuits will flourish. Already, a flurry of COVID-related lawsuits are hitting the medical profession. A law like this will only make attorneys celebrate. Innovation and science will be stifled as no one will dare pursue research that conflicts with the official edicts of the CDC for fear of losing medical licensing. We know the science of medicine is always changing and evolving. We no longer treat people with leeches. Under Newsom’s law, a physician may lose his license if he tries to keep up with those changes.

Gavin Newsom is not a doctor. Neither is the legislator who sponsored this bill, Assemblyman Evan Low. Neither are all the members of the state Medical Board nor are all of California’s public health officials licensed medical doctors.

COVID was a perfect example of the disaster which ensues when medicine intersects with politics, when politicians only interested in the next election are allowed to make decisions that properly belong to doctors. No, Governor Newsom, doctors should not be punished for “unprofessional conduct,” but politicians like you should be.
