The Gas Hack

Here is why we have this Vulnerability! The recent eastern region pipeline was shut down by hackers and it's not because that the hackers are smart. It's because the developer of the code never learned to write secure code. Therefore the Colonial Pipeline was exposed to the vulnerability of a massive hack job that ran wild and allow the hacker to become rich with BitCoin exploitation. The developers working for the gas company should learn that using containers to load the code is helpful and fast in deployment. Also, they should learn that running the code against an automated system like GitLab will help clarify how exposed the developed code is before deployment. There is no CICD process to help coders learn a better way to secure the code written. If we don't practice secure habits we leave the door open for anyone to walk in. Cyber attacks by groups like Darkside ad others will continue if the business owner of America fails to understand the need and power of hiring Security professionals. Stop focusing on the certification of the need and start working on gearing and beefing up the numbers of professionals that can fill in the open national gaps.
Otherwise, ransomware exploits will continue to cost us all billions in fraud, waste and abuse. How about that?
