Gardeners are better at Leading Scaling Agility!
Introduction:
As we continue exploring Human and Artificial Intelligence approaches to Leading Scaling Agility, let's talk about Human Intelligence today. Over the last decade and a half of Scaling Agility, I have observed that Leaders who are Gardeners are better at Scaling Agility than others.
Here is a graphical overview of this hypothesis that advocates a more Human Intelligence approach to high-risk challenges:
Leaders as Gardeners:
The nurturing of talent and leading them in these turbulent times calls for a gardener's delicate touch to the mindset, habits, and language of leadership.
The gardener mindset gives exquisite attention to the people and the context, while the habits are that of careful tending and detail. The language of the gardener is to encourage growth and confidence.
Indeed, I have known several of my Agilist Gardener/Farmer friends who talk to their flowers and plants!
What will it take from our Leaders to be Gardeners:
So, this is my quest - Leaders who want to be Gardeners! And Gardeners who want to apply both Human and Artificial Intelligence approaches!
