The Garden School was established by members of the local community to provide high-quality learning experiences for young children between the ages of 3 and 7 years. Garden School nurtures the child physically, socially and intellectually. The school offers individualized experiences, small group interactions, and a creative environment in which to explore and learn.
Their approach is based on the Reggio Emilia approach, which encourages curiosity, discovery and connectedness. This shared experience into passionate exploration engages all members of the school community in co-constructing a unique and practical education.
Garden School is based in Mae Sot, which is a city located deep in the mountains of Tak Province close to the border with Myanmar.
Mae Sot is among the most culturally diverse cities in Thailand as dozens of ethnic groups live in this area.

Garden School, is seeking to hire one Native English-Speaking Head English Teacher and one Native Speaking Thai Teacher to become part of The Garden School family.
Native Speaking Head English Teacher
Responsibilities of the Head English Teacher are:
- Support students in meeting their social, physical, emotional and educational need
- Have a positive attitude and engage the students with excitement about learning
- Incorporate English listening, speaking, numbers, writing and reading skills in child-led activities
- Incorporate art, music, physical education, and other subjects in child-led activities
- Have activity plans well prepared with clear instructions
- Document all students behaviour, social interaction, and academic progress
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents and staff
- Speak with parents professionally and make sure all information is clearly translated
- Help out other classes in the event a teacher is absent
- Attend and help with extracurricular activities that the school holds after school hours
- Outside of class time, update the Facebook page
- Maintain documentation of learning for each child regularly
- Prepare/share reports of each child to families each term
- Coordinate regular meetings with families along with assistant teachers, Thai teacher and administrator
- Take the initiative on projects to enhance the school ground including, but not limited to, occasional maintenance projects to grow plants/fruits/vegetables, and equipment for physical activities
- Work with the administrator and Thai assistant teacher to update and maintain all school administration files including, but not limited to, the family handbook, enrollment forms, emergency contact forms, etc.
Required Experience & Qualifications of the Head English Teacher are:
- Native speaker of English
- Experience working with children (2-7 years old)
- Have a BA degree in education/early childhood education and teaching experience
- Experience/training in Montessori, Waldorf, or similar approaches to learning
- Open to an alternative teaching style that is child-centred and led by the children
- Reliable and on time
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work collaboratively and well with others in a multicultural environment
- Commitment to continuous learning with an ability to take advice and guidance
- Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach
- Experience with mixed-age group learning
- CPR certification
- Basic First Aid certification
Remuneration of the Head English Teacher is:
- The salary is based on experience, and qualifications it is between 30,000-50,000 Thai Baht per month
- All holidays are paid; Teacher will receive payment for 12 months of the year.

Native Speaking Thai Teacher
Responsibilities of the Native Speaking Thai Teacher are:
- Support students in meeting their social, physical, emotional and educational needs

- Incorporate Thai listening, speaking, numbers, writing and reading skills in child-led activities
- Incorporate art, music, physical education, and other subjects in child-led activities
- Have activity plans well prepared with clear instructions

- Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents and staff
- Speak with parents professionally and make sure all information is clearly translated

- All holidays are paid; Teacher will receive payment for 12 months of the year
