The Garden That Changed Everything
To most people, I'm an extrovert. A social butterfly moving effortlessly through crowded rooms. But here's a pattern few notice: I can count on one hand the number of times I've invited friends into my home.
Privacy isn't just my preference. It's my fortress.
Yet, I'm sitting in my garden with David Hyner, the summer sun warming our notebooks as we sketch out plans for a new venture. Getting past my front door, let alone into my garden, isn't just rare—it's nearly impossible.
But this is what happens when trust moves mountains. Or in this case, opens doors.
It's 2004, and we're not just sharing ideas. We're building what will become the GiS Sales Club. But here's the pattern that made it work: Trust was just the foundation. Two other elements transformed this garden meeting into a legacy.
First, strategic alignment. Our visions didn't just overlap—they amplified each other. Like two waves meeting in perfect synchronicity, creating something bigger than either could alone.
Second, accountability. Not the kind that comes with formal agreements and KPIs. The deeper kind, where your word becomes your bond because you can't bear to disappoint someone who believes in you completely.
This is how trusted advisor networks operate differently from traditional ones. You won't find this level of connection in a LinkedIn profile or a hastily exchanged business card. It's not about collecting contacts—it's about cultivating champions.

Today, David stands as one of Britain's most impactful motivational speakers, transforming businesses and schools alike. His trusted advisor network spans industries and generations. He doesn't just speak to audiences; he nurtures the next generation of speakers through his mastermind group, creating ripples that will continue long after the applause fades.
That summer garden meeting wasn't just about starting a business. It was about discovering a pattern: When trust meets strategic alignment meets accountability, impossible doors open.
Look at your own network. How many would you invite into your garden? How many truly align with your vision? How many hold you accountable to your highest potential?
Sometimes, the most powerful business transformations start in the most private spaces.

3 个月I love the phrase 'Trusted Advisor" it has such a depth to it. I too joined David's mastermind for 2024. I wanted to share a space with people I could trust. Whilst I can be an introvert, I am an external processor. Finding a space, a mastermind group that would honour all that I am I knew was going to be a challenge. This year in business for me has been foundational as I have pivoted from one course of direction to another. Because of my dreams and aspirations shared with the group I have stayed the course. I have established a soon to be thriving niched coaching business and have realistically faced the challenges thrown at me. It's been a rewarding year. If you want or need a mastermind group for 2025, I suggest you chat to David or Harun.

3 个月Thoroughly enjoying getting kicked up the backside and held to account. Also the creative ideas others have suggested that wouldn’t have occurred to me - it’s not an original thought but it really is like having a board behind you. I also find that paying for it keeps me focused.
