Garbage In, Garbage Out
God won't judge me. Women and supervisors have been doing it for years. No one is going to be judged in this article. Reflecting on one statement from a connection: you cannot judge a career on one statement.
You can judge David Tyree on making one Act of God catch in the Super Bowl for those old enough to recall when the New York Giants won Super Bowls. As I was out of town with connections met through this site I was reminded of Merav Levine suggesting to avoid the news feed.
She is right about many things. Truer words have never been spoken. Dealing with the best of the best in person makes me not care about all the manure on this site. Tik Tok videos where someone plays a dual role thinking it is Coming To America? Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall created all those characters.
If the movie were made now would people on Twitter who have nothing better to do complain they were taking work away from older Black and Jewish actors? None of which has to do with avoiding social media.
Since returning from the trip which you will hear about in upcoming articles I have responded to comments and checked the top of the feed. That is where the ones who engage reside. It is productive to hear from your favorite connections.
Go deeper and there is a lot of second degree nonsense. Just because one of your connections liked or commented on a video does not mean it should be showcased above a first degree connection's post.
I had no idea how much the nonsense- what many refer to as "Content"- affected me until I was away from it. It felt like a preview of Heaven. The bad polls and self aggrandizing posts fell away as I spoke with caring professionals who cultivated actual dialogue instead of pitching or catching.
No coach spoke about coaching coaches. That meant it was a true vacation. It is time to implement what I have learned. Remain closer to the top of the feed. Engage with connections and don't wander aimlessly in the expectation the feed will improve. Like the pod race in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace- you can stick with hoping there is a point. Twenty minutes later you haven't made any progress.
Spend time on this site with purpose. The more you deal with bad posts the greater the temptation to leave a snide comment. That leads to useless profile views and no connection.
