The Gaps Are Growing
This latest report from the U.S. Department of Labor is like a slap in the face (can we still use that expression now?) for most ordinary Americans living off salaries, benefits or savings:
"The U.S. added back another 431,000 jobs in March, helping the unemployment rate fall more than economists expected as the strong labor market recovery encourages Federal Reserve officials to more aggressively raise interest rates." (Forbes)
Apparently unemployment is down now that they've added another 431K jobs. I'm guessing these are around 400K jobs that no one really wants to do anymore such as serving food, cleaning or being a nurse or driver with crazy shifts. The money was never good, it was not good for their well-being or health, and now there's the added risk of catching Covid from being in direct contact with people. Not to mention that all the long shifts have made people think about what they're doing with their lives, so they're making different choices now.
Good thing we've known for years that AI would replace thousands of people, so what's all the fuss about now that less people are working? It just doesn't look good on paper. The unemployment report, like other reports of this nature, are an indication of the state of the economy. But no matter how bad things get, no one is going to put out a report with the real numbers because it's not in their interests to do so.
The people who write these reports, and the huge brands connected to them are really worlds away from what's actually happening.
The people who write these reports, and the powerful business leaders connected to them are really worlds away from what's actually happening. The gaps have grown so big that it's almost as if there are two parallel realities. At a time like this when everyone is struggling with work in some manner or lack of it, Walmart plans to hire 50K employees to provide service in their U.S. stores and for new departments.

The Disconnection is Real
How nice would it be to have a synchronized system that really looked after the people. The disconnection between the white collar crowd and the rest of the workforce shows how bad things are really getting. All these institutions like the Labor Department have to appear to be caring to get their standard budgets.
The public is also still living in its own world, and it's time to wake up. The days of allowing some clerks in government offices to determine things based on their agendas is over. So now everyone is going to have to get actively involved in making the right changes. We need to start organizing the 4 million from the Great Resignation.
Now is the time to speak up and make demands of employers. Now is the time to start pressuring business owners by speaking to them directly. Tell your bosses what you really want, the things that have nothing to do with your compensation and everything to do with how you feel working for them. A system needs to be fed and not only in a material way. The days of simply paying a salary are over. People care who they work for now. They're looking for leaders with new values, new leadership styles. They want to identify with the mission and be creative. They want to feel they're increasing their human potential. So let's start looking at things from a more sober perspective.
There is currently so much resistance to these evolutionary shifts, everyone wants to continue business as usual. But at the very least let’s start directing ourselves to be inclined in a certain direction. We can all do that. Because at some point the white collar folks who write these reports will need to genuinely connect with the public. Why? Because we all know there's absolutely no connection between what's written in these fancy reports and what's actually happening.
Closing The Gaps
I'm always talking about the same solution: a global integral system where everyone looks out for everyone else - why? Because it's in our best interests to do that. Everyone's best interests. What does that look like? Everyone sitting in roundtable discussions going over the issues together - not Q&A with public officials, not surveys, not voting, lobbying or campaigning. Just everyone sitting together and working out the issues in a very systematic manner according to the integral method. What's the main principle of the integral method? Everyone is equal and equally important. So it would be a very advanced type of discussion where we tap into our collective intelligence together to come up with new solutions.
It's time for us all to stop standing on the sidelines waiting for things to get better. We need to start talking and thinking about these shifts, and that will already create a new vibe in the world. The business leaders and economists will feel this pressure and start to make changes.
Social changes are like water flowing in a river. You can’t stop it. You can build all kinds of things like dams, but water’s main attribute is spreading. Our human evolution/ development can’t be stopped, or slowed down. My goal is to raise awareness of how the private sector can get ahead of all these changes, in a manner that will also be really good for business.
We have everything to gain and nothing to lose. So what are we waiting for? I would love to see a powerful iconic brand like Walmart allocate a tiny area in each store for these discussions. Imagine how fulfilling that would be for employees and consumers. That's what we have to look forward to.
