Gandhi - the fearless experimenter
Abhay Goghari
Experienced storyteller. Bylined author and novelist. Digital content creator with work spanning six regions and 8 niches. Former art director.
Gandhi was a quintessential experimenter. Be it Satya (truth) or Nai Taleem (experiential learning model), he was a radical at trying out the untried. One of the most hyped post-modern terms – Innovation, Gandhi was a die-hard at it.
So what if Bapu was still around today, not out at 148? Well, he would still be experimenting. With what? No second-guessing there – with Digital, AI, VR, BlockChain, Cloud…
Salute to the ubiquitous Innovator of all times.
Digital Gandhi
This is the digital age. From music to money, and everything in-between gravitates around digital. So Bapu would be listening to “Vaishanv Jan Toh” on his Apple Airpods during Dandi March ver 3.5 (undertaken to protest defecation in open). And his trademark chain-watch would be replaced with a wearable device displaying how many miles he has covered in the march.
Artificially intelligent Gandhi
Gandhi would have taken to Google Personal Assistant, or Amazon Alexa, or both. He would be dictating his daily to-do list to the former and asking the latter to live-stream Mann Ki Baat. Then, using a chatbot, he would inquire about the UI/UX feedback on the smart charkha prototype that is at an advanced stage of development.
Virtually real Gandhi
Gandhi was not much into gaming, but he heard of how Pokemon Go went viral overnight, and he had to experience anything as radical as that. Since then, he is much into gaming, a fan of Cardboard headsets.
Block-chained Gandhi
A stickler for perfect record-keeping that he is, Bapu always had problems archiving his accounts ledgers. Something would always be amiss from his ledgers of national expenditure and donation funds. With GST chipping in, things seemed to be going haywire. Just then, the block chain happened to Bapu, and he isn’t feeling blocked or chained by record keeping any more. His miles of Excel accounts sheets are now safely archived for ready retrieval any time.
Cloud-friendly Gandhi
There is a basement-full of Bapu’s public addresses and speeches spooled in magnetic tapes. Realising the importance of that national treasure, the PMO sent a suggestion to Bapu that it be digitised and stored on the Cloud. At 148, Bapu thought that was a great idea. And certainly so; now his spoken words have become immortal on the Cloud, accessible to progeny at will.
Salute to the ubiquitous experimenter of all times.
