Writing a Project Brief for a Game Art Outsourcing Company

Writing a project brief for an outsourcing company might not be as easy as it seems.?A well-done brief should always have strictly set technical requirements and provide references. What else should it contain?

TOP Five October News

  • Sony Santa Monica’s main goal with?God of War Ragnarok?was to make the best PlayStation 4 game possible, as they said in a new interview with?Eurogamer. They claim they wanted to support the large PS4 fanbase from the get go, despite Sony stating that they “believe in generations”. PS5 version will be the “icing on the cake” as it will contain up to 120HZ mode, enhanced graphics and full DualSense support.
  • CD Projekt RED announced a remake of the very first? The Witcher?game. “We want to do this right, so please be patient,” said CDPR on Twitter, suggesting it will take a while before it gets released. The remake will be made in Unreal Engine 5 from the ground up which means we can look forward to having stunning graphics with great detail. In the upcoming weeks or months, we should be able to pass the time with a PS5 and XSX version of The Witcher 3, which is still set to release in 2022.
  • Konami together with Blooper Team confirmed that the remake of?Silent Hill 2?is coming in the following years. However, as it turns out, the game could arrive sooner rather than later because Blooper Team claims that the game has entered the final stage of production. Fans favorite horror franchise is thus slowly coming back with not only games, but also a new movie or TV series.
  • Fleur Marty, the executive producer of?Gotham Knights, confirmed that the game will be limited to 30FPS due to “the type of features” it has. As she claims, the game is “highly detailed” and because of that, it is not enough to simply lower the resolution to achieve 60FPS. We will see whether the studio will figure out how to achieve the 60FPS industry standard in the future and maybe deliver it in one of the future updates.
  • Meta, the company behind Facebook, has?bought 3 new VR developers?for Oculus Studios. The firm will be joined by Camouflaj, the team behind Iron Man VR, Twisted Pixel, and Amature Studio who ported Resident Evil 4 for Meta Quest 2. Furthermore, Meta announced that Iron Man VR will be released on Quest 2 in early November, breaking its two-year PlayStation exclusivity.
