Flutter lowers 2024 US revenue projection after short-term sports betting results
Flutter Entertainment has provided an update on the impact of "unfavorable" short-term sports betting results, including lowering its 2024 US revenue projection by $370m and its US adjusted EBITDA estimation by $205m.? The company stated that the 2024-2025 NFL season has seen favorites win at the highest rate recorded in nearly 20 years, creating one of the most customer-friendly betting periods since the launch of online sports betting. Missouri regulator estimates sports betting to start this summer
Those waiting for sports betting to take root in Missouri could have an open market by the summer, according to an NPR Kansas City news report. During the election in November, Missouri?voters pulled the lever in favor of a legal sports betting?market by passing Amendment 2. Under the terms of the amendment, a legal market would need to be in place statewide by December. However, Missouri Gaming Commission Chair Jan Zimmerman told local news that she “she expects wagers to be placed by summer.” Read the full article here.
Ohio sports betting handle reaches $1.03bn for November
The Ohio Casino Control Commission has published its sports betting results for the month of November. In addition to the monthly report, the regulator released its year-to-date figures for 2024. For the second time in the market’s history, Ohio posted monthly handle that surpassed $1bn. During November, the Buckeye State’s total handle reached $1.03bn, an increase of 19% when compared to results posted a year ago. Sports wagering revenue for the month reached more than $116.9m.
