Las Vegas Strip July revenue falls 15% to $709.3m
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has published its results for the month of July. The state brought in more than $1bn in total gaming revenue for more than three years in a row, according to the report. However, totals in July were down when compared to results from a year ago. Revenue from the Las Vegas Strip last month reached $709.3m, down 15% year-over-year. Win on the Strip this time last year reached $834.9m. Read the full article here .
DraftKings to acquire Simplebet for live betting enhancements
DraftKings has announced that the operator has reached an agreement to acquire Simplebet, a sports betting provider of in-play micromarket content and pricing. The merger agreement and proposed transaction have been approved by the Board of Directors of both DraftKings and Simplebet and are subject to the receipt of required gaming regulatory approvals as well as other customary closing conditions. New Jersey judge rules in favor of Atlantic City casino indoor smoking
A New Jersey judge has issued a ruling that will continue to allow smoking in Atlantic City’s casinos, according to a recent Associated Press report. The decision was made by Superior Court Judge Patrick Bartels in response to a recent lawsuit filed by The United Auto Workers, a union that represents Bally’s Tropicana and Caesars casino dealers. The group sued to overturn the current law on the books that allows smoking inside Atlantic City’s nine casinos. Read the full article here .
