Mirage officially ends operations after 34-year run
After a promotion that saw $1.6m in winnings given away as required by Nevada regulators and one final volcano explosion display, the Mirage Hotel and Casino has closed its doors after a 34-year standing on the Las Vegas Strip.?The property held a closing ceremony on July 17, featuring many prominent names in the Las Vegas gaming and hospitality industries including Co-Founder of Wynn Resorts, Elaine Wynn, Mirage President Joe Lupo and Hard Rock International Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen.?Read the full article here .
Galaxy Gaming to be acquired by Evolution in $85m transaction
Evolution has entered into an agreement to acquire Galaxy Gaming for a total equity value of approximately $85m, payable in cash. Galaxy Gaming is a developer and distributor of casino table games and gaming technology solutions.?The acquisition hopes to continue Evolution’s strategy of being a top provider of casino games and supplying its customers with quality gaming content. With Galaxy Gaming’s portfolio, Evolution will look to solidify its presence in the US market and enhance its position as a licensor of proprietary table games to the online gaming industry. PGCB reports $471.98m in gaming revenue for June
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported the total revenue generated from all forms of gaming in the state for the month of June. Throughout June 2024, the state generated a gaming revenue of $471.98m, an increase of 7.2% when compared year-over-year.?Sources of gaming revenue regulated by the PGCB include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (VGTs).?Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $198m during June 2024.
