AGA Q2 report values commercial gaming revenue at $17.63bn

The American Gaming Association (AGA) has released its Q2 results, highlighting the performance of US commercial gaming. Overall, the national trade association reported that commercial gaming revenue reached $17.63bn, marking the industry’s 14th consecutive quarter of annual revenue growth and also its highest Q2 result on record. MGM Resorts International to pursue Brazilian license

MGM Resorts International is set to form a new joint venture with LatAm-based media group, Grupo Globo, in pursuit of a Brazilian sports betting & iGaming license, following the recent regulatory finalization of the market. The application is pending regulatory approval and, if successful, will see the launch of the pair’s joint venture in the early stages of 2025. Set to operate under the BetMGM brand, the new betting platform will seek to utilize Grupo Globo’s LatAm market expertise as it seeks to break into the newly regulated Brazilian landscape. Online betting contributes to 2.1% rise in Colombian GDP for Q2

Online betting in Colombia has grown the country’s GDP during this year’s second quarter, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). Colombia’s GDP rose by 2.1% during the second quarter of 2024. According to Coljuegos, the most prominent growth came from the agriculture, entertainment activities and public administration sectors.
