Gameloft Vietnam wins Big at 2024 HR Asia Awards
We are excited to announce that Gameloft Vietnam has been honored with not just one, but two prestigious awards at the 2024 HR Asia Awards: Best Companies to Work for in Asia and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Awards. These accolades are a testament to our commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic workplace for all our employees.
To celebrate this special occasion, we’d like to share insights from three key leaders at Gameloft Vietnam, who have been instrumental in shaping our culture and environment:
Arthur Michoux - Hanoi Studio Manager
Gameloft Vietnam's success at the 2024 HR Asia Awards highlights the dedication of our teams in fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace. At the heart of this achievement are leaders who have driven our commitment to a positive work culture. Arthur Michoux, Hanoi Studio Manager, reflects on the journey of Gameloft Hanoi and the values that have shaped its growth over the past 13 years.
"Gameloft Hanoi has been on an amazing journey in the last 13 years. From the time we opened the studio’s doors in 2011, we’ve had the chance to be tasked with interesting and challenging projects, which evolved in both difficulty and scope as the studio matured.
Within an industry that is ever-changing, adaptability has always been the strength of Hanoi. We see the market in the capital becoming ever stronger technically - embracing technology changes swiftly - as well as developing new skills in Game Design, Data and AI. I have no doubt that Vietnam will transition into making AAA games in the next 5 years, and Gameloft is well positioned to take advantage of this market switch."
"Our studio is based on trust, accountability, and respect. We also strongly believe that learning should be at the core of an employee’s journey, so we have a deep coaching & training structure that aims at challenging employees at each position.?
"With recent launches on the market such as Asphalt Legends Unite for PlayStation, Zombiewood for Nintendo Switch and Lego Legacy for Netflix, we are proud to be contributing to the worldwide success of Gameloft."
"It is always nice to receive awards, but this one hits different! We’ve been working really hard in the last couple of years to make the office a great place to work at, so we’re really super happy to receive this distinction. Being in an industry where women are represented in the audience (around 50% of gamers are women), it is extremely important to make sure that the workplace is also showing equality of genders. I think Gameloft is doing big efforts when it comes to diversity and inclusion. An initiative I can highlight is the “She Plays” program, which aims at promoting women in leadership roles."
Adrian Lascateu - Saigon Studio Manager
Celebrating our win at the 2024 HR Asia Awards, it's clear that diversity and inclusion are more than just buzzwords at Gameloft Vietnam—they are fundamental to our operations. Saigon Studio Manager, Adrian Lascateu, speaks passionately about the importance of D&I in building a supportive and cohesive work environment.
"There is a lot of talk around D&I nowadays and it is good that the topic receives interest. Especially in the world today, I think we can all benefit from more understanding and kindness. That means being open to learning and accepting about our differences and making constant efforts so that all people feel comfortable and part of the team. Let’s not forget that at the end of the day we are all humans and want to live a happy life. Keeping these in mind throughout our daily activity helps us maintain a healthy environment in our studio as I see D&I more of a constant attitude."
"I was humbled and happy that the teams’ activities have been recognized by such a prestigious organization. Seeing the hard work being appreciated and validated was also inspiring and brought joy to the teams, further boosting our efforts to maintain the studio as one of the best places to work for. We will continue to strive on this path as we have ambitious plans to grow our expertise in the studio. As we want to be home to some of the best talents in Vietnam, receiving this award confirms our commitment of offering one of the best places to work for in the country."
"Being mindful of the topic in our day-to-day activity, it is naturally included in the various aspects of studio life. From how we conduct ourselves to how we take care of one another. From taking it into account in our policies and processes to organizing dedicated events targeted to further deepen the understanding of the topic, it is always nice to discover it in our activity. The recent seminar held by the narrative team from New York studio on the topic of diversity and Saigon opening it for participation not just to our people but to external participants as well is a very good example of how we try to promote this culture in a natural way, embracing it as a normal in our activity, collaborations and our projects."
Nguyen Ngoc Tuan - SEA HR Director
Winning these prestigious awards is a collective achievement that reflects the hard work of our entire team. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, SEA HR Director, shares his thoughts on how Gameloft Vietnam's people-first approach has been central to creating a workplace where employees feel valued and empowered.
While this is called “HR Award”, I truly that this is an award for the entire team of Gameloft Vietnam, of our both studios in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Our people strategy cannot exist nor succeed without a collective effort in to create a better workplace for our employees. A HR strategy, however wonderful it could be, would fail if it is not translated into reality thanks to the hard work of teams across the Company as well as the invaluable contribution of our employees.
Therefore, this Award recognizes that continual collaboration at all levels, where HR sometimes is initiator, and sometimes facilitator or collaborator, side-by-side with other stakeholders, from Communications, Office Management, Trade Union, Finance, Management team – to cite a few!
I’d like to say huge thanks and congratulations to you all and to all Gamelofters: together, we have navigated hard times and embraced challenges with dedication, passion, boldness, to achieve this milestone!
The attention to diversity and inclusion has come naturally as we have been growing our activities in Vietnam. As we operate in a creative industry, offering gaming experiences to players all around the world, it is vital for us to welcome talents from diverse cultures to develop our creation capacity. At the same time, as we get a little older as Company (we are 20 years old this year), we start having different generations within the Company. It is important to make sure everyone finds home here.
Over the past years, we have discussed a lot between the management, HR and Communications team, and listen to feedback of our employees, to develop and structure our actions in a clear annual planning and to instill diversity & inclusion as much as possible in a range of activities, from offline events, seminars, workshops to social media campaigns. For instance, the theme of the Gala dinner of our 2023 staff trip – the most wanted annual event - was Diversity Night where different teams showed their talents with performances presenting different countries that we have employees from.
As a result, 85% of our employees feel that they can be their authentic self at work, in our Employee Survey in January 2024.
These awards are not just a recognition of our efforts but a celebration of our collective journey at Gameloft Vietnam. They stand as a testament to the dedication, passion, and collaboration of every team member who has contributed to our success. Together, we've built more than just a workplace; we've fostered a community where innovation, inclusivity, and growth are at the forefront.
