Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7

Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7

(Originally posted in the Octavio Guerra Royo's Website)

This seventh season of Game of Thrones is over. It has perhaps been the most intense and short of all.

The first season had presented the detonating situation which dispersed the multitude of characters in a world plunged into chaos and anarchy. These must face their own fate with the premonition that winter (which in Westeros, that fantastic world of George Martin, is a frigid night which lasts for years) is coming all together with a mythical threat beyond the wall of ice that has defended for centuries the seven vassal kingdoms of the Iron Throne.

These have also been divided fighting against each other, while, beyond the seas, the legitimate heiress of the Iron Throne, transformed into the fantastic Mother of Dragons, prepares her return to reclaim its crown.

To make matters worse, behind the wall of ice, the mythic white walkers prepare their return, reviving the dead that they have left in their path to create an unstoppable army of walking corpses.

In this last season, all scattered elements and characters, after a long and tortuous evolution, are attracted by an irresistible force to face each other and fight against the threat behind the wall of ice.

All myths, like the dragons, the white walkers, the living dead and the long winter come true.

Well-kept secrets throughout all the series are also revealed, such as the origins of whom we know now is the actual protagonist. Suddenly, the winter night arrives. The horde of corpses, always renewed with new deaths and led by white walkers, reach the ice wall. The last scene of this seventh season is apocalyptic. There is not much room for salvation.

The impeccable and fantastic production, the characters, the story line, the drama of each scene, the performances, the intense dialogues, the action surpassing the major Hollywood productions, a script that has flowed for seven seasons without flaws or excesses leave us anxiously waiting for another year (there will be eight), along with the sorrow of knowing that it will be the last one.
