A Game of Snakes & Ladders
Life is a game of snakes & ladders. Let me explain why. Every time we see an opening or an opportunity we ensure that we work hard towards making a success out of that moment. Many times many of us falter or miss out and many of us succeed. Whatever be the end result what should matter is that we made an attempt at atleast working the task.
In our line of business as well, life and opportunities are nothing short of a game of snakes & ladders. When you start out to do something on your own...and the competition around you is so massive and filled with many teams that are combining their energies to all eat a share into the pie called ‘Business’ the race for achievement will always be a hard and bumpy one.
For some time now I have been bothered with one question; “Why don’t we see the difference between the grass root operator and a turnkey solutions providing agency such as us?” I suppose the answer lies in the question itself...what are the key differentiators between a turnkey solutions agency and a direct grass root operator? The key differentiators I suppose lies in 3 broadly spoken terms:
- Quality
- Flexibility
- Efficiency
Quality:
- To be able to make a client want to come back to you again and again we should be able to instill in them the faith and belief that we can deliver a quality service offering.
- Despite given the circumstance that today clients want to ensure everything is driven by a budget it is important that we do not drop the quality to meet a budget.
- It should be okay for us to say sometimes ‘NO’ to a client in the faith that we are standing true to what we believe in.
Flexibility:
- Sometimes in delivering quality we should be able to blend into every thinking mind and find a solution.
- A good organisation is one that’s willing to be ‘flexible’ and not ‘bend’. There’s a clear difference in the two. To be flexible shows the earnest attitude in the agency willing to meet the client’s requirement. To bend shows a false intent.
- To be able to stay flexible one shouldn’t compromise.
Efficiency:
- A well oiled and functioning group is when the above 2 points can be achieved.
- A good company is one that manages to work with effectiveness, just & a right intent to work-hood.
- An efficient group is one that can blend into any circumstance and take up any challenge and yet deliver.
- An ability to delivery on time, and at any location and be able to work with various new and unused sources and materials is when one qualifies for a good and efficient organisation.
Perhaps at the end of the day what we all are seeking is for an opportunity to be heard and make our presence felt. But, in the game called life which quiet literally offers up so many unforeseen shocks and awe moments, I think it is important to stay confident and true by what we know open the door to a world of unexpected challenges & results.
