-----! GAME OVER !-----
This can take you to another try in a game , if it is not PUBG. For PUBG players in India, it has been the last game for good.
This may bring a flood hate to my post for saying this, but its great PUBG has been banned in India.
Memes all around and with Twitter going crazy over the news, this has certainly left the fans singing the blues. With 175 million installations till date, India has been the largest market for PlayerUnknown’s Battleground as per the Economic Times and 24% of the total downloads. That is surely a massive number to claim. The craze is such that as soon as the news went viral of the ban, many people even came up with the lists of next best or equally best games to switch to.
And yes a lot of you might wonder that before putting forth a biased opinion, me and people who think alike should have accepted the some pros that come along as well. Like, increasing concentration levels, improving your reflexes to a great extent, creating team spirit ,staying connected to friends since the game’s format is such and the most important of it all –“IT IS A WHOLE LOT OF FUN” as many put it.
The ill effects of it are much more and drastically long lasting than a few positive ones.
Apart from increasing violent behaviours among the kids and ignoring careers, psychological effects are far more damaging. Anxiety, insomnia, depression, etc. to name a few. On top of that, there are already so many reasons like our busy schedules and tiring routines that keep us from social interactions. This is all the more isolating. For children this cuts down a lot of their outdoors playing time which is very much important for all round development. Not just kids or teens, this game has been immensely popular among the adults as well. What’s more ! Even our famous Captain Cool, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been observed to be sleep talking about PUBG as mentioned by his wife, Sakshi Dhoni.
You must ask those whose closed ones have lost their lives due to this and who have seen their kids suffering due to multiple disorders. A young man of mere 25 years if age died due to intense excitement leading to a haemorrhage in his brain. So it has far reaching effects.
I feel after Tik-Tok, this must be the another set of relief for Indian parents and they must gave blessed the government for this move. India has a data security perspective to it but the way it has affected the kids, it has reached another level altogether. By the way, no offense to people who have been using Tik-Tok the right way though !
Creators of the game Brendan Greene and Jang Tae-seok are applaud worthy for creating such an interest gripping game, but again it has to be in limits for everyone. We can’t blame Mark Zuckerberg for creating Facebook if we are the one to clock 10 hours a day on the app. His motive was to only create a medium of connection. To use it wisely, is our choice.
Moderation is important. Not just in respect of video games but also the way social media is used. If used efficiently and made a good use out of it, it can do wonders but the other side of it can cost you your peace and sometimes even life !
