Game On. The Next Lacrosse Experience is Here - and it’s Mobile

To build the next UFC, it’s essential we continue to innovate and create new experiences for fans to stay engaged with the game of lacrosse. However, just as important as entertaining our core audience, it's critical we tap into casual sports fans around the world to introduce them to the game.

It’s with that goal in mind that we’re excited to launch the beta version of our new mobile game, Top Shelf!

You can now take the game with you on your mobile device, 24/7, as you test your accuracy and speed, shooting for goal while playing as an avatar of some of the biggest stars in the PLL.

Some stats for you...during the video game console revolution of the 90's, everything was about hardware and games at retail. Over the last decade, that trend dramatically shifted to the mobile device. According to Statista, 88.9% of all gamers play on mobile. From percentages to numbers, there are 2.7 billion gamers worldwide, making?2.4 billion?of the total duking it out on their mobile screens.

In the 90's and early 2000's, I was introduced to a wide receiver route tree through EA's Madden, how to strike a ball to draw your tee shot onto the fairway from Tiger Woods, as well as the names of the entire Chelsea Football Club roster and the path to the Champions League via FIFA. Overwhelming evidence suggests that if the game is entertaining, you can not just build an incredible product for your audience, but more importantly, you can display the game to new fans, onsetting increased participation and overall interest.

One additional example, there are 80 million skaters worldwide...but over the lifetime of Activision's Tony Hawk Pro Skater, there have been 1.4 billion copies sold. Earlier this year, Tony and I talked about it on my Suiting Up Podcast .

BTW I think it's working...in the first 24 hours we made the Top 10 Charts on the App Store for most Sports App downloads!
