Today, I will tell you about a powerful secret weapon for any organization adopting virtual or hybrid work. In 2015, I was working on a new theory called Enterprise Social Systems (ESS) to replicate the office's social dynamics and physical environment in an online space. This early research, which I eventually published in my 2018 book Leading Exponential Change Chapter 7, aimed to translate the organic interactions and random clashes of the traditional workplace to a virtual environment.
Although this concept was new at the time, it would soon prove to be true. \ When COVID-19 emerged, companies desperately needed new ways to maintain culture, collaboration, and connection with distributed teams. Around 2015, I crossed paths with Cliff Pollan, who had a brilliant concept that fully aligned with the core principles of Enterprise Social Systems, and we have been in touch since then.
But let me fast-forward to the present, where I want to unveil an incredible secret weapon we're using here at Enterprise Agility University to meet the challenges of exponential change.

1 年Today I was at a leadership gathering where the "multi-employment" came out. Apparently, nowadays 30% of employees around the world have more than one job in the same time frame and area of expertise (and it would ascends to 50% on technology jobs). It's incredible how something that was considered "imposible" 5 years ago, "cheating" 3 years ago, now is the "new normal". Companies have drop the exclusivity expectation and now are open to contract under this schema.
