Things change quickly.?
A couple of weeks ago, Donald Trump was running against Joe Biden in the race for President of the United States. Some kid tries to assassinate Trump, Biden gets COVID and all this on the back of a horrific performance in the debate and now Kamala Harris is running for President of the United States!
There she was biding her time as Vice President, but now she is the main woman. To say things happened quickly is a massive understatement.
In light of this, everyone heads online to get answers.
So, most importantly, how is this all reflected online?
For a search of Kamala Harris, there is a news box on the top of page 1 reflecting that she’s now running for President.?
Further below the page is a second bunch of results for context
Wikipedia is where it gets interesting
There is a tag on her article to reflect the current events
In the last 2 days, there were 126 edits to her Wikipedia article Probably senior digital strategists making sure that her articles are accurate while removing any negative content. 126 edits may not seem like a lot, but for context, during the whole of 2023 the article had 104 edits!!!

And as you imagine, page views have spiked considerably
Of course an article for her Presidential campaign is already up and running with a logo and everything
Expect the Wikipedia article of everyone in her life to receive significant editing - this has already happened to the articles for her sister , mother and father .
Of course all of this is a subsection of her online presence - there's also YouTube , TikTok , Twitter and of course the memes. Not to mention the Reddit threads and Pinterest boards.
Will the much shorter election campaign for her be an advantage or disadvantage?
Tell you in November.
